lyrics
Why don’t you say goodbye?
Instead of eking it out one last time
'Cause I’ve seen you cry at night
With your eyes wired, fired, and bright, oh
Why don’t you walk away?
You could even pretend
It was my fault in the end
Cause this shit's gonna stick like glue
There’s nothing you or I can do
But I heard your curse
Are the words that won’t be spoke
And I heard your curse
Are the voices that won’t be heard
But I know you, yeah, you’re the lost one too
Oh, you’re the lightning stroke
When you work, and you don’t have to wait for no one or nothing
I know you, yeah, you’re the lost one too
But I’m gonna be fine on my own, and I know I can see it through
You can take it all
Everything that I own, I don’t want it at all
I don’t want anything
'Cause I saw you cry at night with your eyes wired, fired, and bright, oh
You could walk away
Let the memory fade
Fight it away from my memory
'Cause I’m gonna build a brand new me
I don’t need your pity
I heard your curse
Are the words that won’t be spoke
And I heard your curse
Are the voices that won’t be heard
But I know you, yeah, you’re the lost one too
Oh, you’re the lightning stroke
When you work, and you don’t have to wait
for no one or nothing
I know you, yeah, you’re the lost one too
And I’m gonna be fine on my own, and I know I can see it through
I heard your curse
Are the words that won’t be spoke
And I heard your curse
Are the voices that won’t be heard
But I know you, yeah, you’re the lost one too
Oh, you’re the lightning stroke
When you work, and you don’t have to wait for no one or nothing
I know you, yeah, you’re the lost one too
And I’m gonna be fine on my own, and I know I can see it through
Why don’t you say goodbye?

I first heard Katie Spencer on YouTube when she was featured on the For Bert Jansch playlist. Katie played her own song called Shannon Road. The lead break that she plays twice really got my attention. I became a fan instantly. Every track on this album is lovely. The whole listening experience is like a favourite film running through my head. I'm so glad that in my twilight years I discovered Katie. I wish her a long and succesful career in music. Mitch Wild
